U.S.-China clash spills into Biotech

Change of heart of the FDA toward Chinese drugs, addition to the exclusion list in December, additions in the U.S. export “unverified list” in January: the U.S.-China tensions are showing up in Biotech.

Bottom line

It was just a matter of time until the economic war between the U.S. and China included Biotech. In order to keep the upper hand, the U.S. is, more or less blatantly, applying sanctions or waving the risk of additional hurdles for the Chinese biotech on their path to invade the U.S. market. Additional tensions should actually favor European or American drug manufacturers.
